I bought this in a size up, kinda just to see how that would fit, and if it would be the right size if I bought it again for some one as a gift, and it ends up being the perfect length for what I prefer and how it sits on my shape as is, that wearing it in public, you can't tell that it is intentionally big. And I still have room to play with all kinds of styles with it, like tying up the sleeves, or tucking the shirt in. The collar is what really does it, it doesn't have any gape to it. But I believe I would love this shirt if I had gotten it in my correct size, as I believe it is true to size.
